Terms of sale and use.

These terms cover the Stamtree program and the licence you buy for it. They are written to be read.

Who you are dealing with

Stamtree is the trading name of Michael Damsgaard, a private individual in Denmark. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the merchant of record for every purchase, and your contract of sale is with Paddle. Contact: our mailbox.

Paddle take the payment, send you the receipt and the invoice, and account for the tax. We never see your card. The program and the licence come from Stamtree, and your licence is with us. Paddle's own buyer terms are at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms and they govern the payment, the billing and the refund.

Accepting these terms

By installing Stamtree, using it, or buying a licence for it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the program.

The licence

• Every licence is a yearly licence: Basic, Advanced and Breeder, and each extension. It runs for one year at a time and renews by itself until you stop it.
• The yearly licence pays for the program as it stands today and for every new version released in the year it covers.
• We remind you 30 days before each renewal. The program itself also says so, 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before your licence ends.
• The renewed licence is fetched by the program itself when you ask for it, under Help, and we also send it to you by mail.
• The licence is personal and carries your name. You may use it on your own computers for your own genealogy. It may not be resold or shared.
• Prices are in Danish kroner. The checkout shows the price in your own currency, with any tax that applies.

If a licence ends

A licence can end because you stopped it or because a payment did not go through. For 14 days after it ends, everything keeps working exactly as before, and the program says how long you have and how to renew.

After those 14 days the program puts the watermark back on prints and stops offering the paid tools until the licence is renewed. It says so, and it says why.

Stopping, and getting your money back

You can stop the renewal at any time. The licence then simply does not renew and you keep every tool for the period you paid for. You have 14 days to change your mind after any charge, including a renewal. How that works is on the refunds page.

Using the program properly

You must not use Stamtree, or anything we publish, for anything unlawful. You must not use it for fraud or for sending unwanted mail. You must not infringe anyone else's rights in what you publish with it. You must not attack, probe, scrape or otherwise interfere with the security of our program or our website, or try to defeat the licence.

What we own

Stamtree owns the program, its documentation, its name and its mark. Buying a licence gives you the right to use the program. It does not transfer any ownership of it.

What you make with the program is yours. Your family file, your pictures, your notes and everything you export from them belong to you, and we claim nothing in them.

What we promise, and what we do not

The program is supplied as it is. We fix faults as well as we can and publish new versions as they are ready. We do not promise that the program or the website will run without interruption or without error, and we do not promise it will suit a particular purpose of yours.

Keep backups of your files. That is true of all genealogy work, whatever program you use. Stamtree writes backups for you and can be told where to put them.

When we can stop a licence

We may suspend or end a licence if you break these terms in a serious way, if a payment is not made, if the licence is used in a way that threatens security or looks like fraud, or if the same problem happens again after we have raised it. We tell you why. Your data is not affected: the file still opens, edits, saves and exports.

Law

Danish law applies to these terms. If you have a problem, write to us first, at our mailbox. It is usually the shortest way.
